CDC Immunization Schedule Adopts Individual-Based Decision-Making for COVID-19 and Standalone Vaccination for Chickenpox in Toddlers

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated its adult and child immunization schedules to reflect recent recommendations from the September 2025 meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). The recommendations apply individual-based decision-making to COVID-19 vaccination and remove use of the combined varicella, measles, mumps rubella vaccine for toddlers.
