CDC’s ACIP Recommends Individual-Based Decision-Making for Hepatitis B Vaccine for Infants Born to Women Who Test Negative for the Virus

The U.S. Centers Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted 8–3 to shift the longstanding universal recommendation for the hepatitis B birth dose to an individual-based (shared clinical) decision-making model for infants born to mothers who test negative for hepatitis B.
