On June 21, 2023, the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted to recommend that adults aged 60 and older may receive a single dose of a Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine.

According to the CDC, RSV infections account for an estimated 60,000-160,000 hospitalizations in older adults in the United States each year and approximately 6,000-10,000 deaths. Adults at highest risk for severe RSV infection include:

  • Older adults
  • Adults
