CDC Urges Continued Vigilance About Listeria Outbreak

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has posted a food safety alert regarding a multistate outbreak of Listeria infections. According to the CDC, 7 new illnesses, including 6 new hospitalizations and 2 new deaths (one in Hawaii, one in Oregon) have been reported since the CDC's last update. Investigators are working to determine if these new ill people ate previously recalled foods or if other foods may be contaminated.
