On July 1, 2025, OSHA issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) proposing to remove OSHA's COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standard and its associated recordkeeping and reporting provisions from the Code of Federal Regulations. The public comment period for the NPRM was to close on September 2, 2025, 60 days after publication of the NPRM.
